Halloween 1999 was on a Sunday this year. The city council caused some confusion by declaring (9 days before Halloween) that Trick-or-Treating would be on Saturday night. Of course, there was no way I could make the change on such short notice. The Council's decision was not mandatory, so the end result was that kids trick-or-treated both nights. I just hated to turn folks away on Saturday, but I was simply not ready, and there was no way I could get my spooky crew together both nights. Despite the confusion, we had a great turnout on Sunday. The weather was beautiful, if a bit hot, and everyone had a big time! On a side note, we collected over 50 cans of food for the local food bank!
